Call for mentors and protégés

UBCP/ACTRA is offering its professional mentoring program to all members who identify as Black, Indigenous, or Person of Colour (BIPOC).

The program:

  • is offered to BIPOC performers engaged in all areas of recorded media;
  • is for continued self-development towards defined tangible objectives;
  • lasts for a 6 month duration – May 1 through November 1, 2023;
  • matches protégés with experienced mentors who have experienced and relate to specific challenges;
  • is conducted with a regular agreed upon schedule, with structured on-purpose meetings;
  • requires both parties to meet a minimum of 2 hours per month;
  • is flexible and can be co-ordinated at mutual convenience.

Eligibility
          All applicants must:

  • identify as Black, Indigenous, or Person of Colour
  • be a Full or Apprentice member
  • have a minimum of 2 credits
  • include a performing resume with their application

Participants who are under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all meetings.
 
The deadline to apply is March 15, 2023.
