Virtual Day of Mourning, April 28th 2020
Message from W. Laird Cronk, BCFED President Dear Friends, I wanted to let you know about the plans for this year's commemoration of the National Day of Mourning on April 28. As you know, the National Day of Mourning honours the memory of workers who have been killed, injured, or suffered illness as a result of their work. This is one of the most sacred days on our calendar. It causes all of us real pain to know we can't gather in person this year because of the pandemic – which is itself a reminder of the dangers facing working people. But this date is too important for us to allow it to go
WHO CAN APPLY - The CERB will be available to workers:
residing in Canada, who are at least 15 years old; who have stopped working because of COVID-19 or are eligible for Employment Insurance regular or sickness benefits; who had income of at least $5,000 in 2019 or in the 12 months prior to the date of their application; and who are or expect to be without employment or self-employment income for at least 14 consecutive days in the initial four-week period. The income of at least $5,000 may be from any or a combination of the following sources: employment; self-employment; maternity and parental benefits under the Employment Insurance program and
Reminder: CERB Application Dates starting April 6, 2020.
For January, February or March birthdays, you can apply for CERB, Monday April 6. April, May and June birthdays can apply Tuesday. July, August and September can apply Wednesday October, November and December birthdays, apply Thursday Friday, Saturday and Sunday for everyone. Reposting the link Angelica shared.
