UBCP/ACTRA is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela Uyeda to the Executive Board for the remainder of the board’s current term (January 2021 – January 2024). The Executive Board vacancy was created when Director Paul Dzenkiw resigned in January.
Angela has been a UBCP/ACTRA member for 23 years in the capacities of Stunt Performer,/Coordinator/Actor. Working across Canada, the US & Mexico, and with teams from around the world, she has a deep appreciation for our local community.
Angela has served on the UBCP/ACTRA Stunt Committee and UBCP/ACTRA Awards Nominating Committee in years past, and she has served as Vice-President and Member At Large for Stunts Canada.
Growing up in a martial arts (Judo) community taught her, not only self-discipline and respect, but to be an active part of creating growth-mindset environments with open communication between those involved. She has an appreciation for a good sense of humour and has an interest in challenging conversations.
Angela has expressed gratitude for her appointment to the Executive Board and is looking forward to serving the membership of UBCP/ACTRA.
As per Article 9 (c) of the UBCP/ACTRA Bylaws:
Between General Elections where a vacancy on the Executive Board will exist for a period of less than one (1) year, the Executive Board may fill that vacancy by appointing a Full Member. Such appointment is effective immediately, subject to ratification by a majority of voting Members at the next properly constituted General Membership meeting. Where the vacancy is for a period of one (1) year or longer, the vacancy must be filled according to Article 17.
A vote will be taken at the upcoming General Membership Meeting on April 26th.
